Chief Systems Architect

Boyd came to Feedmagnet after 10 years of plying his trade as a database developer for startups throughout the Austin, TX area.  At Feedmagnet, he was tasked with making the database work and bringing stability to the existing system.  He did this by working with the development and business teams to rewrite the system from the ground up as single tenant and using BASH scripts to launch and maintain servers.  Feedmagnet launched this new system in March of 2011 just in time for SxSWi in Austin.  However, by April of 2011 it was apparent the BASH scripts would not get much past their first customers.  Boyd realized he needed something more and decided to implement Chef.  Today he oversees over 100 servers all cooking with Chef.
