Lew Goettner is a senior technical lead for the Knowledge@Wharton group within the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. His day to day responsibilities include managing the publishing infrastructure for Knowledge@Wharton's network of sites, which run the range from WordPress on LAMP to legacy ColdFusion code on IIS/Windows. Additionally, he serves on admin groups that span Wharton's computing division for F5 devices, MySQL, PHP and WordPress. Prior to joining the Wharton School, Lew worked in the medical industry, building HIPAA compliant case management systems, supporting medical technology review publishing, and consulting. After 12 years working on both the systems and development sides of the house, Lew feels strongly that if you find yourself doing something a second time, that the third time should be automated. He will make exceptions to this rule for good coffee, which he can often be found grinding and brewing at his desk.
